Bakehouse Breads

Come in and discover what fills the morning air with a scrumptious scent. 

Kurt Brunner, was a certified Austrian Master Baker, who's work ethics, recipes and traditions have been passed down to our new generations of bakers.  Many breads are still baked just the way he used to.  We still get up early in the morning, firing up our ovens and preparing to leaven our breads.  The first items from our oven are Butter Croissants and Fruit Danishes just in time for your breakfast.  As our other doughs ripen, more of our breads emerge from our Italian Hearth Oven, where breads are baked directly on stone to give you the best flavor and texture of true Artisan bread. 

 

Our current specialty breads include:

Ciabatta, 5-Grain, Rye, Honey Wheat, White, Craisin-Walnut and our best seller, White Sourdough. We are always working on something new for the season, so come in and explore our new breads!

Best Care for European Artisan Breads

  • Unsliced bread will stay fresh longer than sliced bread.

  • To keep bread longer than 24 hours, place in a plastic bag. You may freeze your bread but, avoid refrigeration.

  • You may re-crisp your bread by placing it 5 to 7 minutes in a 375°F oven.

Our Breads Ingredients

Flour

  • We source non-GMO, un- bleached, unbromated wheat flour from King Arthur Flour Company.

  • When possible we source local, organic rye for our specialty breads.

Yeast

  • At The Bakehouse we use many techniques to leaven our bread from simple poolishes, to levains (white sourdough), to a complex 3 stage rye sourdough method.

Grains

  • Flax seed is high in Omega 3. Sunflower seeds, sesame, and oats are high in nutrients and fiber.

Sweet Treats & Custom Cakes

We have a daily selection of fine European pastries that you can enjoy as a treat any time of day, or bring a box home to share! Visit us to see what we have in our case.

Come in, call or e-mail to make a custom cake order for any event. We specialize in our signature flavors such as: Black Forest, Strawberry, cookies & cream and lemon. Though you can feel free to suggest any flavor and we will be happy to discuss options.
